This exciting new development is set to bring major benefits to the region, creating new homes, jobs and vibrant community spaces for residents to enjoy.
“Sacramento County is proud to support Somers West as they break ground on the first phase of the Braden master planned community,” said Dave Defanti, Deputy County Executive for Sacramento County’s Community Services Agency. “Braden, with its thoughtfully considered integration of 8,000 residences and 1.3 million square feet of commercial space will be a transformational project in Sacramento County and will bring much needed housing for all income levels to the region.”
Braden is designed with a focus on sustainability. From energy-efficient homes that cost less to operate and leave a lighter carbon footprint, to green infrastructure, this project demonstrates that growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
From an economic perspective, Braden will create thousands of jobs—both during construction and after completion—boosting local businesses and spurring growth in a variety of industries. The influx of new residents will invigorate our local economy, support small businesses, and create a thriving marketplace right here in Sacramento County.
The County will stay involved throughout the development process and long after, helping ensure that infrastructure improvements, transportation planning, and public services keep pace with the growing community. County officials will continue to support Braden as it evolves, working hand in hand with developers and residents to make sure it thrives for years to come.
At full build out, Braden will feature:
2,667 total acres
1.3 million square feet of commercial space
Up to 8,000 residences
75 miles of trails and bike lanes
4 anticipated schools
6 mobility hubs
More than 20,000 planted trees
