Our Kinship with Animals Lives in our Hearts

SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Starting with the 2019 Sacramento County Fair, the carnival of hot summer days began for the Capital City, extending the opportunity for happy crowds, groups, and families to experience the ‘whole farm’ of animals congregating in town–plus cotton candy, corn dogs and fairground rides.

Most people feel a natural sort of kinship with animals, and this was the event to bring out those affections for the animal kingdom. Instant friendship bonds formed between children, adults, and animals. Sympathizing and observing animals gave people a chance to experience curiosity at a level that always brings smiles and amazement.

Domestic animals, which give the event its earthy feel, filled the Sacramento Fair Grounds’ stages, stalls and aisles. Filled with pigs, goats, horses, chickens and dogs, many of these 'household characters' shared their unique charms and awed attendees with their tricks and training.

Galt farmers, too, got to practice their ‘Right to the Fair’ in Sacramento, bringing their best animals to the show.

More exotic and wild animals were there to represent the more wild animal kingdom. Tigers slept and snakes slithered while children and adults marveled at their presence. People even seemed to enjoy the presence of some really sweet and tame velociraptors–courtesy of Dinosaur Kingdom, a Bakersfield entertainment company.

We thank an installment of the U.S. Army there for keeping an eye on that Velociraptor Situation–just in case. We salute Staff Sargeant SSG William Myers of Capital Company Natomas.
